This from Good Dr. Goodwin, himself:

The Dick Goodwin Big Band gives few public performances in town -- but look at July! There are two very different events.
Wednesday July 19th we will be at the Main Street Public house from 7:00 to 10:00 – no cover but there is food (which is really pretty good) and drink available. And we’ll be doing a wild mixture of pieces … including some of your favorites and selections that we just love to play.
THEN
Sunday July 23rd we will be in concert at the Lourie Center … a nice sit-down-and-listen event at 3:00. This program will include some traditional jazz selections often featured at the Carolina Jazz Society’s monthly concerts from Sept. through May, but will have plenty of big band era and beyond songs as well.
The Big Band’s long time guitarist Dwight Spencer will be in town for both events and will be featured – along with our wonderful brass section, Doug Graham on clarinet & sax, Terry Trentham (bass – who also contributes some engaging arrangements for the group), masterful drummer Mr. Jim Hall, and our fine vocalists John Wilkinson and Kristi Hood. Plus, expect a surprise guest performer that I know you’ll enjoy.
