This is great news. Dwight will add banjo and maybe acoustic guitar for our season opener. It’s always fun when Dwight brings his special talent to the group. As you may remember, Dwight was on the faculty at USC and a member of Dick’s various groups for may years. But he got an offer to teach at Liberty University in Virginia that was just too good to turn down. That’s where he is based now but he will be back in town to help us kick off a great new year.

Dwight Spencer is originally from Greenville, SC, received his music degrees from The University of South Carolina.  He is guitarist who doubles on banjo and other string instruments, a composer, clinician, and an active studio musician.  He has recorded with Maurice Williams (Zodiacs), Dennis Williams (Temptations) and is on numerous film and show sound tracks.  He has performed live with Randy Brecker, Marian McPartland, Marvin Stamm, Bill Watrous, Louis Bellson, the Lettermen, and Scott Record.  Mr. Spencer teaches music at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
